Annual Event Memories

Ocotillo Hills Block Watch Street Party

Our Annual street event takes place on the first Saturday in March with fun and crime and safety awareness.  Participation included booths from the local Desert Horizon Phoenix Police, Neighborhood Services, Phoenix Fire Department, Phoenix Park Rangers, In Touch Wellsness Center provided messages, Balloon Artist and Face Painting by Tim, Community Bridges Inc.  We grilled up some food, and had our local Javier’s Ice Cream Truck, Cultivate Coffee, and Lovecraft.  We always have live entertainment and our residents vintage car show.  Our local Councilwoman, Deb Stark, and Phoenix Mayor, Kate Gallego, spoke at our event.  Fun day for everyone!

October 3rd Saturday Ocotillo Hills Block Watch G.A.I.N. Event

G.A.I.N. (Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods).  Another fun event with multiple Sunnyslope Block Watches and Organizations.   We grilled up hamburgers, hot dogs (veggie and regular), and chips.  A chance to meet locally elected officials, and our local community police officers!

December 2nd Saturday, Annual Sunnyslope Holiday Market & Parade

Ocotillo Hills Residents came together to design and build a float for the December 9th parade down Hatcher Rd from 7th Ave to Central Ave.  In addition, one of our residents brought their VW bus which won second place in the APS Electric Light Parade.  This was the second year, and there was so much more support from the Sunnyslope residents, there were more vendors, and more floats.  Even the Desert Horizon Precinct Police Department had a float.  There was food, music, vendors, and North Mountain Brewing and OHSO brewery each a beer tent.
